CHAMP Camp Counselors
CHAMP Camp counselors are health care professionals who at camp are friends and mentors. They listen, play, laugh, compose songs, bait hooks and know how to create magical moments. They live in the cabins with the campers to monitor and provide medical intervention around the clock. We staff 2.5 counselors for every camper. Sixty percent of our counselors are nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, teachers and physicians. We also welcome those with non-medical specialties and our alumni campers.
Because we are committed to making our activities safe and fun for everyone. Each activity has at least one Program Specialist from our staff who will be at a specified activity consistently. This Program Specialist has been a counselor at CHAMP Camp previously and has considerable expertise in implementing an adaptive program for our kids. Likewise, each activity will have a Recreation Unlimited staff person present as well.
