CHAMP Camp Family Updates

February 1, 2021 By

My name is Rick Adams, and I rejoined the CHAMP Camp Board of Directors back in November.  I served on the board for 12 years, stepped away for three years, and now I’ve come back still full of my passion for and love of CHAMP Camp.  Additionally, earlier this month the board elected me President.  I’m both excited for and humbled by the appointment.

On a decidedly less positive note, Alysia Caldwell is no longer serving as CHAMP Camp’s Executive Director.  I’m sure it comes as no surprise that CHAMP Camp hasn’t been spared from the negative implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Alysia served CHAMP Camp first as an intern and then for the past approximately three years as our Executive Director.  During this time, our mission was in great hands, and we appreciate Alysia’s dedication to CHAMP Camp and most importantly our wonderful campers.  Thank you, Alysia!

Now, let’s get back to some positive topics.  I have nothing new to report regarding the status of CHAMP Camp 2021.  However, I want you to know a few things.  First, we don’t give up easily.  Secondly, our commitment to CHAMP Camp in both the near and long-term will not waiver.  Lastly, we are still financially stable thanks to our amazing donors and a disciplined approach to running CHAMP Camp, Inc., so please know CHAMP Camp will not be a casualty of the pandemic!
